5K Course

A fast and flat 5K (3.1 miles) on Sparta’s neighborhood paved streets. Starting line and finish line in back of Sparta Middle School (formerly Sparta High School). Music and water stations all along the course. Bring the whole family! Strollers and dogs on leashes welcome but required to start at end of the line. 

 
Location and Accomodations

Sparta Middle School (formerly Sparta High), Address: 480 S State St, Sparta. Locker rooms will be available pre and post race.  Daycare available through Algoma School Development Center.  Available 7am-9am race morning.  To reserve a place please email Marguerite with names and ages of your children.

8:00 a.m. 5K Run/Walk(3.1 miles)

·          $22 online registration closed Thurs 7/17/08  5pm EST

·          $22 mail-in registration must be postmarked by Tues. 7/15/08

·          $25 Late registration July 18 & 19

·          $85 5K Team/Family Rate

Minimum 4 members, maximum 7 members. Team registration forms must be mailed together and postmarked by July 15.  Team/Family sign up not available after July 15. Individual’s times qualify for age group awards.  

Race Packet Pick-Up

Early Packet pick up July 18, 5:00—7:00 pm. At Sparta Middle School.

Race morning packet pick-ups from July 19, 6:30 - 7:45 a.m. in Sparta middle School.

Awards (immediately following obstacle course in the gym)

5K Age Groups - Awards Three Deep
Masters Awards, 14& under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 & over

Team/Family Awards Three Deep.  Scored on top 4 team participants.

Awards and apples tree for first place overall male and female in each age group.

8:40 a.m. Children’s Fun Run (not timed)

Non-competitive, 12 yrs & younger, Sparta High School Track. Fun prizes and awards for participants 
FREE.  Please list number of partipants on entry form. 

9:15 a.m. NEW! FUN! OBSTACLE COURSE (Free)

Located in the Sparta Middle School gym.  Open to all ages.   Come join our newest addition to the day!  Awards for winners.  Arrive early to get your spot!
